About the Role

Responsible for leading and coordinating the Escondida Business Partner team, ensuring strategic alignment between the Innovation – TAD (Think & Act Differently) agenda and Escondida's priorities.

Serves as a key liaison between the Head of Innovation and the Escondida Business Partner, facilitating the management of innovation initiatives and supporting the identification and prioritization of high-impact opportunities.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Frames the opportunities and defines value drivers and determines the boundaries of a challenge to determine if it is worth further investment.
  • Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conducts benchmarking, implements prioritization methodologies and identifies key investment drivers to effectively manage key requirements across the TAD portfolio.
  • Originates, support development, recommends opportunities/technologies that are aligned with Escondida strategy and TAD portfolio priorities.
  • Prioritizes work and resource allocation accordingly, and effectively coordinates with other teams across TAD to ensure alignment and efficiency
  • Makes evidence based and strategic decisions in alignment with Escondida´s longer term business objectives.
  • Translates corporate objectives into actionable plans, communicating, managing and analyzing the implementation of those plans, and reporting back on their progress to facilitate the delivery of our strategy.
  • Conducts presentations and facilitates workshops using storytelling to connect, influence and engage the asset audience with TAD.
  • Applies and evaluates change management tools, methods, data, purpose, value and strategic direction.
  • Applies an understanding of the business context, BHP/TAD operating model and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity and value chain performance.
  • Engages the capabilities of Escondida´s organization.
  • Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.
  • Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs.

About You

To be a top performer you will need:

  • 15+ years’ experience in mining, industrial, or related sectors.
  • Engineering or related degree with an MBA or Master’s in Innovation, Strategy, or Business Leadership.
  • Leading strategic innovation or transformation initiatives.
  • Managing innovation/technology portfolios and aligning with business value.
  • Leading high-performing, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Influencing senior stakeholders across functions and levels.
  • Driving and embedding large-scale change.
  • Facilitating executive workshops and storytelling to engage audiences.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Availability to travel to Escondida (Antofagasta) twice a month.

About the Role

The Program Manager (Studies) role provides leadership to the study team, focussed on the safe and efficient delivery of projects through their lifecycle in line with BHP standards and requirements, within budget, scope and schedule to optimise value for BHP. Translates strategy into operational plans for the Portfolio of the Pillar.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensures that the project team conduct benchmarking, implement prioritisation methodologies and identifies key investment drivers to effectively manage key requirements across the portfolio.
  • Leads team to identify opportunities to optimise value, manage associated risks and apply Optimised With/Optimised Without framework principles to create and preserve maximum value from projects across BHP.
  • Identifies and assesses risks on a Portfolio level, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
  • Makes evidence based and strategic decisions in alignment with long term business objectives.
  • Makes decisions based on value drivers and boundaries of an opportunity to determine if it is worth further investment.
  • Facilitates activities and inputs with stakeholders to ensure high quality change management, making sure that key assumptions are competitive and realistic.
  • Leads the Study team to execute the selection and definition phases studies considering value creation investments and assessing material risks and issues.
  • Validate inputs to 5YR Plan objectives and budget, driving performance and implementation accordingly with Portfolio.
  • Ensures an environment in which internal lessons learned, and external best practices are part of the operational processes and manages the measurement and continuous improvement of performance, recommending any changes required to identify capital efficiency initiatives and productivity improvements.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, or related disciplines.
  • Postgraduate studies in Business/Finance or Project Management.
  • Experience in management of a portfolio of projects.
  • At least 15 years working on mining industry (Required).
  • At least 10 years in project management and/or project study development (Required).Desirable experience in tailings projects.
  • Effective and highly influential diverse stakeholder engagement including an ability to constructively challenge ideas and build trusted relationships.
  • Capability in building and developing diverse, high performance teams.
  • Strategic and analytical thinker that demonstrates business acumen, with the ability to focus and prioritise critical deliverables to provide timely insights to stakeholders.

About the Role

Reporting to the TROC (Technology Remote Operations Centre) Superintendent Respond, you will provide support to the Production System Technology services.

The Principal Network Respond Engineer is responsible for the management, and oversight of the organization's network infrastructure. This role ensures the availability, integrity, and security of data and communication networks, aligning with the company's standards and strategic objectives.

Your key accountabilities will include:

• Develop, lead, train and coordinate incident management process throughout the entire process life cycle, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal impact on operations.
• Develop, lead, train and coordinate fulfillment process throughout the entire process life cycle, ensuring all requests are met efficiently and effectively.
• Engage sites and TROC operation stakeholders during events, incidents, and changes or planned maintenance activities to ensure smooth operations.
• Interact with technical stakeholders, support level 1, level 2 and contractor level 3, ensuring all technical issues are addressed promptly.
• Oversee and coordinate contact management with third parties and support service providers.
• Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software.
• Ensure that major incidents lessons learned are correctly documented, shared, and included as part of the operations teams BAU activities. .
• Rapidly provide break-fix solutions or escalate to support teams to restore production system availability following outages.
• Support proactive monitoring & event management to maintain critical production systems availability.
• Support the correct transition to operations execution from projects, and ensure the services and assets are properly taken under control.
• Identify and escalate issues by analyzing recurring incidents.
• Provide technical support to the root cause analysis (RCA) investigation and problems resolution.
• Ensure that monitoring tools are properly updated, including network CI and components, as needed (changing as business required).
• Perform maintenance activities on Production Systems Technology assets that reduce failure rates and downtime of equipment.
• Ensure the safe execution of planned work to deploy Production Systems technology changes & enhancements.
• Apply effective risk controls to identify potential threats and minimize or remove business impact.
• Execute Service Management operational processes to drive consistent execution for the entire scope of Production Systems Operations accountabilities.
• Participate in the planning and testing of disaster recovery and OT service continuity plans for Production Systems applications and infrastructure. About You

You will be an excellent team player who is also able to work in a stand-alone capacity. You will provide leadership to a team, focused on the management and support of on-site operational technology and systems. You will coach and develop team leaders / teams to deliver high performance. Your oral and written communication skills will be well developed, and you will be able to work collaboratively and build relationships at all levels.

To be a top performer you will need:


• Bachelor or higher degree from STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering Mathematics) schools. Telecommunications degree is a plus.
• Fluent verbal and written Spanish. Advanced verbal/written English.
• A minimum of 7 years' experience in similar roles is required, ideally in the mining industry.
• IT Infrastructure Library, ITIL v3 or higher certification is desirable.
• Technical experience in Network Administration such as routers, firewalls and switches.
• Hands on experience configuring Cisco equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of network protocols, security, and communication technologies.
• Certifications aligned with networking equipment configuration is big plus. Same or similar to CCNP or CCIE.
• Technical experience in leading and resolving complex problems, proposing solutions, and finding the root cause after deep analysis.
• Technical experience coordinating installations, configurations and support of end user equipment.
• Experience leading and interacting with different lines of service and internal/external resolver groups.
• Experience in industrial environment (networks, control systems, instrumentation).

• Experience in optical networks (DWDM) and fiber optics deployment.
• Experience Cybersecurity to help develop and evolve the company's security strategy.
• Knowledge on ISA-95 standard.
